PRESTRESSED/POST-TENSIONED CONCRETE SECTION (ACI 318-08)

(5/11)

Description

This spreadsheet calculates slabs, beams, columns, walls, and piles using pre-tensionsed, post-tensioned and unbonded, post-tensioned and bonded reinforcement. There are pulldown menus that popup when you click on the input cells for you to select what you want to design. Green cells are for user-input and white cells are automated cells. The figure also redraws itself based on user input.

I set the password of the new file to nothing. You can unprotect it without entering a password. I lock it to prevent users from accidentally moving graphs and figures.

NOTE TO USER:
This spreadsheet can be used for checking the capacity of a prestressed/post-tensioned concrete slabs, walls, beams, columns, and piles.

WARNING: If upon opening this file, a warning message about circular referencing appears, DO NOT CLICK OK. You must CLICK CANCEL, go to menu Tools -> Options -> Calculation tab and enable Iteration as shown in the picture to the right or the spreadsheet will not work properly. Be careful when deleting or overwriting any cells below the beam figure even if it "appears" to be empty. Doing so may overwrite hidden functions and cause the spreadsheet to malfunction. You may, however, insert new rows. The print layout may need to be readjusted if new rows are added.
MACROS & ITERATIONS MUST BE ENABLED FOR THIS SPREADSHEET TO WORK. SCROLL TO THE RIGHT FOR INSTRUCTIONS.

What happens when you don't have any compression steel aside from at the drop panels at columns? Several values won't compute due to division by zero.
