Highwall Retaining Wall
Description
-
Material Properties and Dimensions: These are the basic inputs required for the calculations, including the weights of concrete and soil, dimensions of the wall and footing, and other relevant parameters.
-
Overturning Calculations: This involves calculating the forces and moments that cause the wall to overturn. The surcharge and soil pressures contribute to these forces.
-
Resistances: These are the forces and moments that resist the overturning and sliding of the wall. They include the weights of the footing, wall, and soil on the heel, as well as the passive pressure.
-
Total Weight and Moments: The total weight and moments are calculated to determine the overall stability of the wall.
-
Factors of Safety (F.S.): These are calculated to ensure the wall is stable against overturning and sliding. A higher factor of safety indicates greater stability.
-
Reinforcement (Rebar): The values of Kr indicate the required reinforcement at the base of the wall and in the footing to ensure structural integrity.
